Having been involved in organizational change design strategies in several organizations makes me believe that employee productivity is a key component in any organization’s success, which is hugely dependent on such aspects as leadership style, employee motivation, organizational culture, etc. With this paramount in mind, this study sought to investigate the relationship between these characteristics and employee productivity through the use of primary quantitative approach. A survey was carried out among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) employees and data was analyzed using SPSS statistical tools, namely, correlation and regression. Organizations culture had the highest impact on productivity followed by employee motivation and leadership style. In all, this implies that leadership and motivation of the employees may be necessary in order to have employee performance but they are most effective when backed by a strong workplace culture where employees are engaged, they collaborate and there is employee well-being. The related study demonstrates that organizations must be mindful of collaborative approach to workforce productivity and all the possible efforts must be made on the people or the workforce along with leadership development, motivational strategies and cultural enhancement. Real life implications of our results are that business leaders and HR professionals should maintain a supportive work environment. Additional research should examine industry specific effects, long term productivity tendencies as well as changes of workplace culture and employee motivation because of remote and hybrid work.
